2009 Photos: The Rain Garden

Finishing the Rain Garden

 

 

We have planted the deeper part, and Risa is watering
the plants that will go in the upland prairie (behind the retaining wall).
All the plants are native to Iowa, and many are local ecotype plants
and seed- courtesy Johnson County Historical Society.

Even after it rains hard & fills up, the garden will
soak in the water in just a few hours!

 

After about a month, the plants really started to fill out!
